Milo Manara has never hidden his debt of inspiration to Jean Claude Forest and his main heroine, the first erotic comic, the blonde Barbarella. Dino De Laurentiis commissioned a series of sketches from Milo Manara for an unreleased remake of Roger Vadim’s 1967 film “Barbarella,” starring Jane Fonda. Here are some studies from that commission. Milo Manara also designed the variant cover for the complete edition of the original Barbarella comic, which COMICON Edizioni commendably published in 2016.
